‘Don’t do evil,’ mantra fails naïve Google

To be fair there’s a lot more to Google’s code of conduct than ‘don’t do evil’. There’s a dog policy for a start.

But many of us are beginning to wonder if Google’s beginning to regret its naïve approach to corporate social responsibility. It turns out they’ve appointed three more PR agencies (they used City Press when opening in Manchester) and may yet recruit more. While Google’s yet to join Yahoo! in being accused of helping to jail dissidents, ‘don’t do evil’ hasn’t stopped it working with Chinese censors.
