NWDA to challenge business publishers… and bloggers?

Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA)How-Do, the website that has quickly established itself as north west England’s primary source of media industry news, has revealed that the North West Regional Development Agency (NWDA) is to launch a business news website at theoutbox.co.uk.

The rich media (I guess this means we can expect a bit of video and similar stuff) magazine will compete head on with private sector offerings like Insider, EN and recently announced newbie Crain’s. Some might question the ethics of a public sector body entering a market apparently well served by the private sector, so theoutbox.co.uk needs to work especially hard to prove it’s doing something nobody else can… commissioned agency Junction YK certainly talk the talk.

They’re also looking for someone to write ‘personality led polemic’, which sounds like a paid blogging job. If only I were a personality with opinions on business…
