Manchester Evening News relaunches website… looks great
It’s not normally news when a business launches or relaunches its website as we’ve reached the stage where we’re expected to be online. But when that business is of the old print media, and has been forced into ever more radical tactics to halt decline, it is.
Fortunately, the Manchester Evening News has relaunched to well deserved rave reviews. It is a vast improvement on the former incarnation, feeling a lot fresher, more contemporary and confident in the new medium.
But best of all the incredibly intrusive pop-up driven advertising has gone. It can’t have being making them any money. Interestingly (but on a far smaller scale, of course) I reduced the number Google Ad spots across my blogs a little while ago and revenues went up. It’s not the number of advertisements you display, but where and how you display them.

I’m not sure my review was particular ‘rave’. It’s an improvement though, that’s true.

I guess I’m guilty of exageration there.
