uSwitch public relations success
Hats off to uSwitch, the online price comparison service that made its name helping consumers to find the cheapest gas and electricity and now finds best buy broadband, credit cards et cetera.
uSwitch is always in the news with solid comment on rip-off Britain style issues, often arguing that regulators should make it easier for consumers to change utility suppliers, switch banks or whatever. That’s the business from which it makes its money and highlighting high bank charges or the latest utility to raise its prices creates itchy-footed consumers in need of information on how to switch.
But what a compliment – what a triumph for the public relations team – when the media forgets you’re a profit making business and begins to describe you as a ‘consumer group’.
