Blogs as promotional tools

I suspect it won’t be long before this sort of thing – promoting a film using blogs – is seen as run of the mill and no longer counts as news. But what’s intriguing is that the two blogs being used to promote this film (an official film site and a Rwandan genocide survivors blog) have both been created using free blogging software and hosting from Blogger.com (I use Blogger to create my blogs, but pay for hosting under my own domains). They even use standard Blogger templates.

Perhaps blogging doesn’t just help enthusiastic hobbyists look professional, but professionals to look like enthusiastic hobbyists.
